This series of 10 training modules is designed to provide people new to air conditioning the fundamental concepts of the process and the components used in a system. These modules are  in simple language and concentrate on presenting the concepts in ways that can be easily understood. After completing these modules a student should posses the understanding of how the air conditioning process works and have an appreciation for the function of all the major components in a system. Each module contains a quiz with reference to the appropriate section of the module allowing students to evaluate their understanding of the concepts presented.

This class is the complete 10 modules and includes a mid-term test and a comprehensive final exam.

This module is an introduction to air conditioning and refrigeration.

In this module, you will learn more about measuring temperatures and heat, and you will be introduced to the concept of pressure. You will learn how it is measured and how it affects refrigeration. 

This module will acquaint you with the mechanical refrigeration cycle - its purpose, function, components and conditions. From this course, your servicing ability on all sorts of refrigeration systems will be enhanced. You will develop the temperature-enthalpy diagram skills taught in the previous module into pressure-enthalpy diagram skills. These will greatly assist you in troubleshooting a mechanical refrigeration system, regardless of its use. 

This module focuses on two aspects of comfort air conditioning. First we will introduce you to the four basic types of comfort air conditioning systems. Each of these types uses a mechanical refrigeration system to remove heat from an occupied space. Then the type of mechanical refrigeration system or process that each type uses to remove heat from an occupied space will be discussed. This will help you understand the many types of air conditioning products, 

This module will continue to build your knowledge of the mechanical refrigeration system and its components. The purpose is to review the function of a compressor and identify and describe the five basic types in common use. 

This module will continue to build on your knowledge about mechanical refrigeration system and its components. The purpose is to review the operation of the condenser within the refrigeration system and to describe the three types in use today. Condenser capacity and how it is controlled will also be discussed as well as how condenser problems relate to system troubleshooting. 

This module will continue to build your knowledge of the mechanical refrigeration system and its components. The purpose is to review the placement and function of the evaporator within the refrigeration system and to describe the types in use today. The evaporator's capacity and how it is controlled will also be discussed. 

This module will continue to build on your knowledge about the mechanical refrigeration system and its components. The purpose is to review the placement and function of the metering device within the refrigeration system and to describe the types in use today. How the metering device adapts to a changing load will also be discussed. 

This module will continue to build your knowledge of the mechanical refrigeration and its components. The purpose is to identity the many types of controls used in the refrigeration system and to describe the function, placement, and operation of each. 

This module will continue to build your knowledge of the mechanical refrigeration system and its components. The purpose is to present eight commonly used refrigeration cycle accessories. The purpose, application, location in the system, and operation of each accessory will be presented. The benefits and disadvantages will also be discussed.
